

Honoring Admiral Horacio Rivero

Admiral Horacio Rivero passed away today Sunday, September 24, 2000 at 10:45 AM. in San
Diego, CA. Admiral Rivero was Puerto Rico's highest ranking military officer in the US
Armed Forces and commander of NATO forces. He also served as ambassador to Spain during
the President Nixon's Administration. Preparations for services have not been finalized
pending arrival of family and close friends.
9/27/00 The
memorial service for Admiral Horacio Rivero will held on Saturday, September 29, 10:30 AM
at the Chapel of Naval Amphibious Base in Coronado, San Diego CA. After the service there
will be a reception at the Amphibious Base officer's club.

Admiral Rivero's daughter has requested that no flowers be sent. If you would like to make
a donation she suggests the the American Red Cross
or the House of Puerto Rico San Diego Building Fund,
PO Box 81982, San Diego, CA 92138-1982. Admiral Rivero was the honorary chairman of the
House of Puerto Rico Building Fund.
