The HPRSD Cottage Museum is a place that brings us great joy for two reasons: one, for the sense of accomplishment after seven years in the making (grass-roots fundraising & construction) and two, to have a place we can meet to share our Puerto Rican culture with our community and the world.
Therefore, it is no surprise that we aim to celebrate our Casita's "Birthday" with cake and music.

House of Puerto Rico San Diego, 3rd Anniversary Celebration
By Emily Velez-Confer
On February 3, 2009 the House of Puerto Rico San Diego celebrated with music and fellowship to 3rd Anniversary of its opening.
Our Casita was full of members and guest who came to enjoy live music provided by Manny, Gene and Kiko. Also performing was Stevie Caruso who sang Reggeton and Hip Hop. A special THANK YOU goes out to them!

House of Puerto Rico San Diego Reinitas and the Jovenes Boricua Vejigantes were also present and mingled with the guests.

Jovenes Boricuas Vejigantes were Antonio Flores, Sr. and Antonio Flores son (forground) and Sonny Thompson. Two of the evening’s performers were Gene and Manny.
Cake and refreshments were served and it was an opportunity to catch up with member we had not seen for a while and also guests who were new to our organization. Two new members signed up and we welcome them with open arms.
