Casita Fundraising Update

Your efforts are making a difference!!

President's Message:

House of Puerto Rico San Diego (HPRSD) will celebrate its 32^nd anniversary year in 2004 and what a wonderful year it is going to be for HPRSD. Construction of "la casita" has begun. The trees has been cut down, the ground dug up and the cement for the foundation has been poured. After completion of the foundation inspection, we should see the the frame work going up. We are getting closer to completing our goal of building a Puerto Rican cottage in Balboa Park. Collectively, the HPRSD Board and members has worked hard in accomplishing this wonderful goal. This significant event will mark our passage down the road to life and I am very proud and excited to be a part of this.

One of our goals, as your Board, is to make your membership life simpler and more significant. The goals of HPRSD would never be reached if it weren’t for the support received from all the members. Whenever the Board makes a decision regarding HPRSD, it will be with all members in mind.

Looking ahead for the year 2004, of course completing “la Casita” will have the highest priority, but also there are a total of 14 events that HPRSD will either be hosting or participating in. The purpose of these events are to promote, cultivate and preserve the Puerto Rican culture and to inform the public that we are here in San Diego, CA. Volunteers are always needed for these events, especially for the parades.
